Hi! My name is Ashleigh Stahl. I earned my bachelor’s degree in child study with a concentration in English and my master’s degree in literacy and cognition both from Saint Joseph’s College. I have been educating for over 4 years and have worked in a variety of diverse schools located in Patchogue, Medford, Wyandanch, Islip, and Flushing. I have done most of my teaching in prekindergarten, which I believe to be one of the most rewarding learning experiences for not only the students but also for myself. I have also had experience in first grade, fourth grade, and sixth grade classrooms. My number one goal as an educator is to create a fun, engaging, and supportive environment for students that focuses on building up their individual weaknesses as well as furthering their strengths in an approachable manner. I will provide students with high expectations so they can succeed academically, socially, and physically, and hopefully instill a love for future learning and curiosity. I believe that strong parent-teacher relationships are very important to the learning process and strive to keep the lines of communication open as much as possible for you and your scholar. I love doing crafts, singing songs, and reading and will try to incorporate these types of activities as well as other activities your child likes to complete during each new day of learning. I am always excited to meet new students and can’t wait to get started!

Hello Everyone! My name is Melissa Re-Cagna and I am currently a one-on-one pre-school teacher. I have been working with children for the past 34 years in a variety of settings. At one point of my career I moved to the Cayman Islands and created a nursery program in an existing private school. The goal for this program was to have my students reading and writing before the age of 5. My greatest accomplishment has been raising and teaching my four daughters. I pride myself on attention to detail, organization and strong family values.
Volunteering and giving back to the children in my district has been a major part of my life for the past 15 years. I am proud to say I am a 4x PTA President and have served on the Council board. I have also “raised" nearly 100 young girls in the Girl Scout community. I take great pride as a lifetime member of GSNC and have lead all my daughter’s troops to date.
When I am not spending time with my husband and daughters, you can find me restoring furniture and redecorating homes. Although I did not go to college for interior design, it has become a true passion of mine and I enjoy getting to know my clients. My oldest daughter is a pastry chef so I assist her with her business as well.
